Volunteers were recognized Tuesday, April 12, 2011 by Sarah McDaniel, Certified Activity Professional and Volunteer Coordinator and Jeff Petersen, Administrator of Watseka Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Sarah read a few quotes, but the one she felt was very true was one from Erma Bombeck:
“Volunteers … have style. They’re fiercely independent. If you have to ask how much they cost, you can’t afford them… They are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect the nation’s compassion, unselfishness, caring, patience, need, and just plain loving one another.”
Volunteers were served strawberry cake and punch and given certificates of appreciation. Residents assisted in the drawings of prizes for the volunteers.
Geri Ward of Beaverville was presented the Volunteer of the Year Plaque by Sarah McDaniel. All volunteers were praised for all they do for the residents and the facility, by Sarah; Bill Willms, President of Resident Council; and Jeff Petersen the Administrator of the facility
