Courtyard Estates of Peoria gets geared up to celebrate 2013 Supportive Living Week. All across the state of Illinois Supportive Living facilities will be celebrating the success and benefits of the Supportive Living Program. There will be games, competitions, entertainment, socials, and open houses scheduled April 22nd-April 26th that marks the annual celebration of Supportive Living.
Local Courtyard Estates of Peoria is one of the many supportive living homes in Illinois that will be participating in the 2013 Supportive Living Week celebration. This widely recognized event spotlights all 138 Supportive Living communities in the state of Illinois whose focus is to provide high quality care at an affordable price. This program was established in 1999 and continues to be a huge asset to many individuals who are unable to afford assisted living rates but benefit from an assisted living lifestyle. Supportive living communities provide support and services such as medication management, personal care, homemaking, laundry, activities, nutritious meals, and 24 hour supervision as needed.
Courtyard Estates of Peoria Supportive Living home is anxiously anticipating the entire week! Residents are eagerly looking forward to the fun-filled schedule that is in store for them. Jenny Dries, Courtyard Estates of Peoria Event Coordinator explained, “We have a daily theme for the entire week! It kicks off on Magic Monday with magical treats and a magician performance. Tuesday both residents and staff are preparing to dress up in their favorite sports apparel to compete in a variety of games and competitions. Wednesday we are opening our doors to the community and inviting them in to discover what supportive living is all about. Residents are showing off their private apartments and the famous Jumer cinnamon rolls will be on hand so be sure not to miss out! Thursday is Western styled where therapy ponies will be galloping into our building and Patsy Cline herself will be making a celebrity guest appearance! Friday is Carnival day with a clown visit that is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face.”
