National Nursing Home Week Living The Aloha Spirit was May 11-16th. These are pictures of our Mother’s Day Tea. The residents and their families enjoyed Danish and assorted Hot Tea’s. The residents enjoyed a cooking demonstrating done by Kristyn Durre Community Relations Coordinator. The staff and residents enjoyed deep fried Oreo’s, pizza rolls and funnel cakes. The staff enjoyed a meal of Homemade Pizza, Chip, and soda. They also received complimentary goodie bags with candy and a voucher for a free cone compliments of the DQ in El Paso. The residents enjoyed Bingo and a cookout. The whole facility was decorated with the Hawaiian theme.
Meet our new Administrator.
Deb Vege obtained a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master’s in Social Work from Dominican University. Throughout Deb’s education her primary focus was on clinical work with an emphasis in behavioral health. Deb has utilized her clinical skills in crisis work, psychotherapy, substance abuse treatment, domestic violence, sexual abuse, grief and loss. Deb became licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator with a desire to work in a facility that serves individuals who struggle with mental illness or physical disabilities. Deb has relocated to Pontiac Illinois in order to live closer to El Paso Healthcare Center where she is working as the Administrator.

National Nursing Home Week Living The Aloha Spirit was May 11-16th. On Sunday the residents and their families enjoyed a Mother’s Day Welcome to Hawaii open House. Fresh fruit, a chocolate fountain and horderves. Each Mother was given a leis. Throughout the Week the residents enjoyed watching Blew Hawaii, all sorts of games, devotions and everyone’s favorite the Taste of Hawaii where staff brought in Hawaiian foods for everyone to try. Another favorite was the Beach Blanket Bingo and the Luau Meal on Friday Night. This is a picture of the Tiki cart where refreshments were brought around to the residents rooms. The Tiki cart was designed by Maintenance Man Mike Knapp.
