Cornerstone’s Century club (All residents over 100) was recently celebrated with each lovely resident receiving a single red rose and given a “Cupcake” reception by the staff and fellow residents of Cornerstone. Wilanna Vogel provided the music which centered on our centurions favorite songs and top hits from their era.
Our esteemed elders regaled us with stories from the past and 103 year old Millie Ohl, who has preformed in the Peoria area since the 1920’s and sang with her dear friend Jimmy Binkley one last time last December 12th, lead the singing with her signature “Shanty Town” and closed the reception with “Let me call you sweetheart”
The elders decided their motto and advice for the year would be “One’s life should not be measured in years but in the beautiful moments that fill those years!” The party ended with our centurions voting to “all” meet again next year.
