Today was the last session of the school year. Our tenants awarded the 3rd graders with a medal for all their good work this year. It was amazing how they have changed over the last several months. The first time they came in they were so shy, and now they just come in and sit right down with one of our tenants and go to town reading.

Shelbyville Rehab and Health Care:
On Tuesday May 24, 2011, Shelbyville Rehab & Health Care Center had a special guest. Todd Henry visited the facility. He sang music from several different era’s such as: Neil Diamond, Elton John, Buddy Holly, and Jackson 5. The main purpose of his visit was to bring Elvis to visit the residents of the facility. Elvis did come and entertain the residents and staff. There was great participation from residents, staff members, visitors and volunteers. Elvis even took the time to visit each and every female resident and staff member to adorn them with one of his scarves. Activity Director, Sherri Hartline, and Occupational Therapist, Danielle Nichols, served grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches in honor of the “king’s” visit. Volunteers Elizabeth Hennings and Velma Crowe, brought root beer floats for all to enjoy.
