Residents at LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center celebrated Mardi Gras throughout the day on March 8. In the morning we enjoyed a fun craft that consisted of making colorful Mardi Gras masks. The residents were able to add glitter and feathers if they chose to. In the afternoon the celebration continued by having our party. Shiny decorations were set on tables and hung on the walls for everyone to view. The residents wore their masks to the party they had made that morning.
Everyone had chips and salsa along with frozen smoothies. Residents enjoyed the snacks and smoothies and as always some good conversation. Rhonda Adcock and Stacy Fisher, Activity Assistants, also joined in the fun and wore their masks and shared some Mardi Gras history with the residents.
Safari Luncheon:
On March 2, 2011 the Dietary and Activity Department planned a Safari themed lunch for the residents at LaHarpe Davier. We had zebra and leopard print tablecloths along with other various prints and a menu filled with fun Safari foods. We served Monkey Fingers, Jungle Logs, Botswana Beets, Tiger striped cake and banana pops. The residents commented they felt like they were right there in the jungle! Pictured are Hazel and Art Hunerdosse.
Art came to us for rehabilitation after his surgery and has now returned back home with his wife. They are a very outgoing couple that we always enjoy seeing here at LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center. We are glad everyone got to take part in our Safari Luncheon.
