Committee Chairperson and Timbercreek Rehab and Health Care Administrator Brent Morgan presents Sharon Brandon, Executive Director of the Pekin Park District’s Miller Center, a check for $500 in support of their ‘Walk for a Ride’ event.
‘Walk for a Ride’ was held June 5th at Mineral Springs Lagoon in Pekin, IL raising over $5,000 for Senior Transportation in the Pekin area. “The Miller Center has 2 vehicles that offer free transportation for local seniors in the area to anything from doctor’s appointments to the grocery store. The money raised at this event helps offset the cost of running the program for things like regular vehicle maintenance and, the most costly expense, gas” says Sharon Brandon. “This is our 6th Annual ‘Walk for a Ride’ and the program wouldn’t be possible without the help of Petersen Health Care, our sponsors and those individuals that donate to the cause.”
“Petersen Health Care has been a proud title sponsor for this event since the beginning. We are proud to support anyone in the community that helps seniors remain active and independent. This is really a great program they have going and the community is very lucky to have something like this available to them” adds Brent Morgan.
