Sullivan, IL – On March 16, 2016 Petersen Health Care held its 19th Annual Awards Banquet. Shannon Paden of Hillsboro was named the recipient of the 2015 Robert L. Petersen Memorial Award. The winners of this award have been solid leaders of PHC for many years. Their underlying work ethic, loyalty, dedication and true passion for Petersen Health Care are a complete inspiration to others in this incredible company. This award represents the highest honor within Petersen Health Care.
Paden began her lifelong career in long-term care at the age of 17 when she worked in housekeeping at a local facility in Hillsboro. Her skills and experience have evolved through her work as a certified nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, rehab/restorative nurse, social service/admissions, marketing, administrator, and transition specialist. In 2007, Paden started her career with Petersen Health Care as the Administrator of Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She has since held different positions and taken on many challenges just as all the former award recipients have done. In February 2012 she accepted the position of Regional Director for the South Region and currently oversees the operation of 24 facilities in Illinois. Greg Wilson, Vice President of Operations said, “I value her in that position for her professionalism, her leadership, and her ability to motivate others.” If you were to ask Paden about her success over 29 years, she would simply give you a humble response, “Never forget where you came from and always recognize others.” Paden continued, “I am truly blessed for being given the opportunity to help others and for the wisdom they impart during those experiences.” Shannon lives in Hillsboro with husband Bert and their son Mason. She has a step-daughter Jennifer, married to Matt Weiss and three grandchildren; Colton, Kailey and Kenna who also reside in Hillsboro.
Petersen Health Care currently owns and operates homes in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri including Rehabilitation and Health Care facilities, Developmentally Disabled Homes, and Assisted/Independent living complexes. The corporate headquarters is located in Peoria, Illinois.
