Vandalia Rehab & Health Care Center recently held their annual quilt raffle to raise funds for the special community outings program for their residents. Activity Director Eleanor McNutt had set a goal of raising $1,000 and staff members were able to surpass that goal by raising $1,015 during the ticket sales in November and December. Two beautiful hand-made queen sized quilts were made by the residents and activity staff, along with a hand-knitted afghan made by a resident and a place mat set donated by the Extension office, and all were raffled off at our Old-Fashioned Cowboy Christmas family event held in December. “Our residents enjoy being active members of our community. The funds raised from the quilt raffle ensure that they will enjoy many fun trips during 2011. We recently took several residents to the Cheese Factory by Greenville and they loved every minute of the trip” explained McNutt. Vandalia Rehab & Health Care Center staff would like to thank the community for their generous support of our quilt raffle and our residents are already starting to work on the quilts for this year’s raffle.
